At your first consult, you will discuss current and past medical histories as well as current diet and lifestyle habits. Your practitioner may then chose to do some physical examinations if needed before discussing the best treatment options for your case.
To help us make the most of your initial consultation, please bring a completed new patient form, a three-day food and drink recall, and a list of any medications or supplements you are currently taking. These forms will be emailed to you with your booking confirmation so you can complete them in your own time.
If you have any recent blood tests, pathology results, imaging, or medical reports, please bring copies with you or email them ahead of your appointment. This allows us to build a clearer, more complete picture of your health and tailor your care more effectively.
For acupuncture appointments, we recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that can be easily adjusted to allow access to acupuncture points. Your comfort and privacy are always prioritised, and adjustments can be made as needed.
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, acupuncture works by supporting the smooth flow of Qi, or vital energy, through pathways in the body known as meridians. When this flow becomes disrupted, the body may show signs of imbalance or discomfort. Acupuncture helps to gently restore balance by encouraging movement and easing areas of stagnation.
From a Western, biomedical perspective, acupuncture stimulates the nervous system and encourages communication within the body. The insertion of fine needles sends signals that can influence circulation, muscle tension, and the body’s natural regulatory and healing responses. In this way, acupuncture supports the body in recognising areas that need attention and responding in a coordinated, restorative way.
This explanation is intentionally simple. Acupuncture works on many levels, and your practitioner will always take the time to explain how it applies to your individual health concerns during your appointment.
A naturopath takes a whole-person approach to your health by exploring many different aspects of your wellbeing, including nutrition, digestion, sleep, stress, hormones, and lifestyle. During your appointment, you may be asked a wide range of questions that help build a fuller picture of how your body is functioning as a whole.
These questions are never random. They allow your practitioner to understand underlying patterns that may be contributing to how you are feeling. From this understanding, an individualised treatment plan is thoughtfully created to support your health goals.
Naturopathic treatment plans may include nutritional or herbal supplementation, as well as practical dietary and lifestyle guidance that feels realistic and supportive. At Euneek You Health, naturopathy is used as a complementary therapy alongside acupuncture and conventional medical care, ensuring recommendations are tailored, evidence informed, and aligned with your individual needs.
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine and flexible, much thinner than needles used for injections or blood tests. They are designed to slide between skin cells rather than cutting through them, which means most people experience little to no discomfort.
Sensations can vary from person to person and from point to point. You may notice a brief sensation such as warmth, heaviness, tingling, or a dull ache, which is a normal and temporary response. Your comfort is always prioritised, and techniques can be adjusted at any time to suit your sensitivity and preferences.
Many patients find acupuncture to be deeply relaxing, and it is common to leave feeling calm and grounded after a session.
Due to AHPRA regulations and advertising guidelines in Australia, we cannot advertise guaranteed treatment timelines. Again, each patient is different and may be more sensitive to the treatment than others. Compliance to the treatment plans and advice is imperative to the success of your treatments.
Acupuncturists have undertaken at least a Bachelor in Health Science and have an in depth understanding of both Eastern and Western Medicine and as such can apply the appropriate needling techniques to address different conditions. Dry needling refers to needling by practitioners who have not undergone this extensive training and predominantly addresses musculoskeletal pain and tightness.
We value your time, our time & the service that we provide. Unfortunately the services we offer are not like a physio/chiro/beautician where your appointment might only be 20 minutes – we block out 1 hour for a follow-up consult and 2 hours for an initial consult. So last minute cancellations cost us dearly if we are unable to re-fill the appointment. So in order to be able to afford to continue operating we must strictly enforce our cancellation policy.
We ask that you provide us with as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling, however a MINIMUM of 24 hours notice for cancelling (or rescheduling) of appointments is necessary to avoid cancellation fees. For cancellations, or rescheduling, with less than 24 hours notice clients will be charged 80% of a normal appointment cost by way of a cancellation fee. For bookings with vouchers, please note cancellation fees will be deducted from the value of the voucher as per the above description where applicable. Where the booking is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 3 hours’ notice, or where a client is a no-show for the appointment, a cancellation fee of 100% of the full appointment cost will be charged.
